IRISH RESEARCH TEAM SHINES LIGHT ON MALE INFERTILITY
A research team led by Professor Kay Ohlendieck from Maynooth University ’s Department of Biology has determined the molecular mechanisms of a particular form of sperm abnormalities called globozoospermia and found that the abnormal morphology of sperm cells plays a crucial role in infertility.

3U Partnership and IKEA combine to highlight diabetes risk
A novel way to reach the estimated 30,000 Irish people with undiagnosed diabetes, and the many thousands more at risk of developing diabetes was launched today at IKEA’s Dublin store by the 3U Partnership comprising academics from Maynooth University, Dublin City University (DCU) and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

The 5th Annual Conference of the Asian Studies Irish Association (A.S.I.A.) will be held in Dublin City University on 15 and 16 November 2013. The conference is jointly organised by the A.S.I.A., School of Applied Language & Intercultural Studies at Dublin City University and Chinese Studies at National University of Ireland, Maynooth. The theme of the conference is Conflict and Communication: a Changing Asia in a Globalizing World. We hope the conference will provide interdisciplinary study ofmodern and contemporary Asia.
