Department of Psychology (ENRICH) researcher elected to prestigious position of Co-Chair of the Campbell Collaboration Social Welfare Group
Dr Mairead Furlong, post-doctoral research fellow with the ENRICH programme, Department of Psychology, was recently elected as Co-Chair of the Campbell Collaboration Social Welfare Group (SWG) and also as member of the Campbell Steering Group.

Using body clock improves patient outcomes for rheumatoid arthritis
The treatment of rheumatoid arthritis can be enhanced by tailoring patients’ treatment to their circadian rhythm, commonly referred to as the body clock. A team of scientists from Maynooth, Berlin, Vienna and Basel have found evidence that co-ordinating the time of treatment with the timing of disease symptoms can increase the effectiveness of such treatments, reducing joint pain and stiffness for patients.

European Association for Palliative Care Early Researcher Award awarded to Maynooth University researcher
Dr. Kathleen McLoughlin, a researcher at the Maynooth University Department of Psychology, received the 2015 Early Researcher Award (first prize) by the European Association for Palliative Care.

Maynooth University to research novel interventions for vulnerable parents and children
ENRICH (EvaluatioN of wRaparound in Ireland for CHildren and Families), a new five-year research programme led by Maynooth University Senior Lecturer Dr. Sinead McGilloway, has been awarded €1.25m to research two new models of ‘wraparound’ care for vulnerable parents of young children.
