    Large numbers of children and young people in Ireland are engaging in self-harm in an attempt to cope with the pressures of life, according to reaserch from Maynooth University Department of Psychology

    Maynooth University to research novel interventions for vulnerable parents and children

    ENRICH (EvaluatioN of wRaparound in Ireland for CHildren and Families), a new five-year research programme led by Maynooth University Senior Lecturer Dr. Sinead McGilloway, has been awarded €1.25m to research two new models of ‘wraparound’ care for vulnerable parents of young children.

    Cochrane Collaboration co-founder gives guest seminar at NUI Maynooth

    Peter Gøtzsche, leader of the Nordic Cochrane Center and co-founder of the Cochrane Collaboration, gave a guest seminar today in the Department of Psychology on the dangers of psychiatric medication.

    Psychology PhD and SPHeRE scholar awarded a prestigious Young Forum Gastein Scholarship (2014)

    Pádraic Fleming, a SPHeRE PhD scholar in the Department of Psychology at Maynooth University, has recently been awarded a Young Forum Gastein Scholarship for the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) 2014. Padraic is supervised by Dr Sinéad McGilloway (Director of the Mental Health and Social Research Unit) and co-supervised by Dr Sarah Barry, TCD.

    First PRISM workshop a huge success

    PRISM, in conjunction with the Maynooth University Department of Psychology, presented its first training workshop in Maynooth University on the 1st of July 2014.
