    ​MU Sociology welcomes activist and writer Bhavani Kunjulakshmi

    Congratulations to Bhavani Kunjulakshmi, a Bahujan (anti-caste) queer feminist activist and writer from Kerala, who has just been awarded a John & Pat Hume fellowship under the supervision of Professor Laurence Cox, and ranked first across the Faculty of Social Sciences.

    Undergraduate Careers Fair, April 18th 2023

    The Politics and Sociology Society worked with the Department to host a successful undergraduate Careers Fair on April 18th. Thanks to all the staff and our alumni who made themselves available to talk about their diverse career pathways and the Eanan Strain from the MU Careers Office for his input. Special thanks to Alexsandra Lesniak, of Politics and Sociology for her initiative and work, and of course to all the undergraduate students who attended.

    Department of Sociology Seminar Series- 26 of April 2023

    The last departmental seminar for 2023 is on Wed 26 of April at 15:00 to 16:00 p.m. in TSI building room 10.9. Our very own professor Jane Gray and the advocacy team campaign coordinator at Focus Ireland/ SPARK (Single Parents Acting for the Rights of Kids) Louise Bayliss will be presenting about 'Diverging Pathways to Low Income Families in Ireland'. Q&A session will follow. We hope to see as many of you as possible for what promises to be a very interesting presentation on this highly relevant and topical subject.

    Brown Bag Initiative
