Research Centres Scheme 2020: Successful Candidates
Despite pandemical constraints, the Faculty’s Research Centres Scheme 2020, co-funded by the Institute and the Dean’s Office, has been successfully run. It is designed to support the development of fresh faculty research initiatives that are both interdisciplinary and collaborative.

Irish Research Council New Foundations Award for Dr Neil Maddox
Dr Neil Maddox of the Department of Law has been awarded a New Foundations Award by the Irish Research Council. The project is titled: Regulating Fertility Preservation Treatment for Children with Cancer: Medical, Legal and Ethical Challenges and will be carried out in collaboration with the Irish Cancer Society.

Dr Lynsey Black has been awarded a New Foundations Award from the Irish Research Council
Her project, 'Living Borders: Cattle Smuggling on the Ireland/Northern Ireland Border', introduces a novel perspective and historical element to consider the lived experience of borders - the everyday criminality of those who happen to live at national boundaries.

New Foundations funding awarded to Dr. Eilish Dillon
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Eilish Dillon, from Maynooth University Department of International Development, has been awarded New Foundations Funding from the Irish Research Council to explore how International Development is communicated to the public. The research, which was designed in collaboration with Dóchas, the Irish Association of Non-Governmental Development Organisations, will look at the appropriateness of the images used and the messages being communicated by International development NGOs.

IRC New Foundations Success for Dr Etain Quigley of the Department of Law
The New Foundations project is called - Juvenile Sexual Offending: An EU Prevalence and Criminal Justice Response Study and will be done it in collaboration with the ACJRD (Association for Criminal Justice Research and Development). The project will be recording prevalence rates and criminal justice responses to juvenile sexual offending across the EU. It will bring together key stakeholders and scholars in the area with a view to facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Congratulations to ALL member, Rebecca Maguire on being Awarded New Foundations Grant by Irish Research Council
The project will be carried out in collaboration with Multiple Sclerosis Ireland, where we will work to develop a framework for service evaluation. This will help to ensure that services are meeting the needs of users.

MU research: Sea level rise could top 1 mtr by 2100
The NTU-led international study was a collaboration with researchers from The University of Hong Kong, Maynooth University (Ireland), Durham University (UK), Rowan University (USA), Tufts University (USA), and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (Germany).
