Research Centres Scheme 2020: Successful Candidates

Wednesday, May 13, 2020 - 11:15

Despite pandemical constraints, the Faculty’s Research Centres Scheme 2020, co-funded by the Institute and the Dean’s Office, has been successfully run. It is designed to support the development of fresh faculty research initiatives that are both interdisciplinary and collaborative. Six applications were received and I am happy to announce that the two successful candidates are:

Maynooth University Motherhood Project let by Prof Valerie Heffernan, with Dr Sarah Arnold, Dr Mercedes Carbayo Abengozar, Dr Ann O’Brien, Dr Julie Rodgers, Dr Moynagh Sullivan and Orlagh Woods

Storytelling Across Media, led by Dr Jeneen Naji, Dr Ann O’Brien and Dr Stephen O’Neill

Both projects will receive €5000 per annum for two years. With the Dean, I would like to congratulate the successful applicants. I would also like to thank all colleagues who applied. Their proposals were of great interest and it was frustrating to be in a position to fund only two.
