Delia Ferri and Iryna Tekuchova presented at the 7th edition of the Lemkin Reunion at Central European University in Vienna

Professor Delia Ferri and Iryna Tekuchova, PhD student in the DANCING Project funded by the European Research Council, presented  at the 7th edition of the Lemkin Reunion organised by Dr Martin Kahanec, Prof. Kirsten Roberts Lyer and Dr. Felix Butzlaff and hosted at  Central European University(CEU) in Vienna (Austria).

The 7th edition of the Lemkin Reunion, which gathers academics and policymakers dealing with war and atrocity crimes, took place on June 3-4 at CEU’s Shattuck Center for Human Rights. This year the workshop was titled “Healing Ukraine: Post-conflict Management and Human Rights” and aimed to discuss a human rights-informed rebuilding architecture in Ukraine.  As part of the event,  Professor Delia Ferri and Iryna Tekuchova presented on a “disability inclusive” humanitarian response and rebuilding of Ukraine. Their contribution focused on pathways and perspectives for building resilient, inclusive society during and after the war.

Such contribution will also feature into a volume edited by Dr Martin Kahanec, Prof. Kirsten Roberts Lyer and Dr. Felix Butzlaff covering wide range of topics related to the rebuilding human rights architecture in Ukraine post-conflict.
 
Professor Delia Ferri is Professor of Law at the School of Law and Criminology at Maynooth University and Co-Director of the Assisting Living and Learning (ALL) Institute at Maynooth University.


 
Iryna Tekuchova is a PhD candidate at the School of Law and Criminology within the project ‘Protecting the Right to Culture of Persons with Disabilities and Enhancing Cultural Diversity through European Union Law: Exploring New Paths – DANCING’ funded by the European Research Council.
