Dr David Doyle contributes to the Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science on the Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the Education (Admissions to School) Bill 2020
Dr Doyle argued in favour of the proposal to delete the provision which allows schools to give priority to children and grandchildren of past pupils in over-subscribed schools.

NUIM attend Intervarsity Law Summit
The Law Summit is the first and largest student law event of its type in Ireland, bringing together seven Irish law societies, thirteen law firms, the Bar Council, seven law schools, and several legal organisations for a weekend of competitions, networking, and a keynote address.

Professor Claire Hamilton has just published an article entitled 'Crime, Justice and Criminology in the Republic of Ireland' in the European Journal of Criminology.
The piece examines: recent reforms of the core Irish criminal justice institutions; basic trends in crime and punishment over the last 50 years; and critical junctures in the debate over law and order in recent decades.

The move to rename the Department also reflects the strong growth in its law programmes. Maynooth is the fastest growing Law School in Ireland, and amongst the largest common law academic units in the EU.

Over 160 attend webinar with Deputy Commissioner Shawna Coxon
Shawna’s presentation explored the dynamics and features of police culture and the 2018 Cultural Audit of An Garda Síochána, before announcing that a second such audit would take place this year, in collaboration with Durham University.
