    Dr Pauline Cullen will participate in a roundtable discussion on “Work-Life Balance Policy-Making in Ireland."

    Dr Pauline Cullen (MU Sociology) will participate in a roundtable event, sponsored by UCD’s Geary Institute of Public Policy, titled “Work-Life Balance Policy-Making in Ireland.” ​The event will take place on Tuesday, October 15th at the Museum of Literature Ireland.

    Young people are exposed to high levels of marketing for gambling

    New research published by Maynooth University and Ulster University has found that young people who live on both sides of the border in Ireland are exposed to extremely high levels of gambling marketing when viewing some national and international sporting events.

    Ground-breaking overview of East Asian religion in Europe just published

    Laurence Cox (MU Sociology), Ugo Dessì (Universities of Vienna and Cape Town) and Lukas Pokorny (Prof of Religious Studies, University of Vienna) have just co-edited “East Asian Religiosities in the European Union: Globalisation, Migration, and Hybridity” with Brill. This is the first systematic survey of a topic which affects tens of millions of people in the EU as migrants, members of diaspora communities, converts and practitioners of activities from martial arts to alternative health. Maynooth Sociology PhD graduate Dr John Ó Laoidh contributed the chapter on East Asian religions in Ireland to the volume.
