The Sociology Department in association with the Centre for Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce the launch of 'Bringing the students back in: A Study of First Year Experience and Retention Study 2013-14, written by Dr. Maria Feeney.
This study explores the subject intentions and selections of First Year Sociology and Politics students, their experiences of the First Year Programme and their intentions with regard to subject selection for Second Year. The focus of the study was to explore subject choice intention before coming to MU, and subject choice thereafter. We also surveyed the students on the overall teaching programme and their experience of third-level education.
The report will be launched on Friday, by Professor Aidan Mulkeen, Vice-President Academic/Registrar and Deputy President at the National University of Ireland Maynooth.
