Professor Claire Hamilton has just published an article entitled 'Crime, Justice and Criminology in the Republic of Ireland' in the European Journal of Criminology.

The piece examines: recent reforms of the core Irish criminal justice institutions; basic trends in crime and punishment over the last 50 years; and critical junctures in the debate over law and order in recent decades. It is the first Country Survey on the Republic of Ireland to be published in the journal since 2005. Professor Hamilton is Head of Criminology in the School of Law and Criminology and lectures Comparative Criminology on the MA in Comparative Criminology and Criminal Justice.
