Law Society Gazette in Ireland publishes article by Prof Aisling McMahon on PatentsInHumans Project examining the potential impact of patents on access to health

The April edition of the Law Society Gazette in Ireland features as its cover story an article written by Professor Aisling McMahon (Principal Investigator, PatentsInHumans project) which examines the potential impacts that patents can have on access and delivery of health-related technologies, such as medicines, diagnostics, elements of vaccines etc. The article outlines how such issues (amongst others) will be examined as part of the European Research Council funded PatentsInHumans project. Professor Aisling McMahon is a Professor of Law, School of Law and Criminology, Maynooth University. Her research focuses primarily on health law and intellectual property rights. She is the Principal Investigator of the ERC funded PatentsInHumans project.
