Maynooth University Department of Sociology

Liberty Hall Dublin was the venue for the launch on April 5th of Peter Murray and Maria Feeney's new book,  Church, State and Social Science in Ireland recently published by Manchester University Press.  Professor John Horgan, the noted author, journalist, educationalist and former politician launched the book which he described as a superb scholarly exploration of the ways in which the Church sought to influence the emergent field of social science in Ireland in the middle decades of the twentieth century.  Pictured at the launch are the authors, Peter Murray and Maria Feeney along with John Horgan and Mary Corcoran. The Sociology Department sponsored the launch event.
