Dr Mary Murphy, Zuzzanna Kucharski (research assistant), Paul Haughan, Kathleena Twomey and Emma Richardson (peer researchers) attended a recent event for the  Re-Invest Report  they launched on 22nd June, 2016 in Focus Ireland, Georges Hill, Dublin 1, with a policy research seminar reflecting on the research findings and the participative research process used.    To view the contents of Re-Invest Report in detail please click on Re-Invest Report Contents .  The research was cited in the 'Houses of the Oireachtas - Report of the Committee on Housing and Homelessness Report' (page 156), where the committee met the researchers and reported in the Oireachtas report.

A group took part in the ‘Reinvest’ programme in conjunction with NUI Maynooth.  As part of this programme they conducted research into homelessness and found that the main overarching desire for a homeless person is to a have a home. Additionally, they found that a large amount of homeless people have mental health issues. They feel that if these people get a home they will then be in a position to tackle their mental health problems’

This was a considerable achievement for the peer researchers, who are also customers of Focus Ireland services.
