The 8th biennial conference of the International Crime Fiction Research group will take place in the Arts and Humanities Institute at Maynooth University on June 14th and 15th of 2019, and will bring together researchers from around the world with a shared interest in exploring how the crime genre (in the words of Jorge Luis Borges) “thrives on the continual and delicate infraction of its rules”. The conference will cover topics ranging from formal re-configurations of the genre to how recent crime narratives have reckoned with issues such as racism, misogyny, and ecocide, as well as considerations of how changing technologies and mediascapes have shaped crime narratives and their reception. The event will also feature guest appearances from crime authors.in the Arts and Humanities
