Why and how CSR practices manifest themselves in both responsible and irresponsible behaviors?

The study of Dr Sanjay Singh, recently published in the Journal of Business Research, together with Vijay Pereira, James Tuffour, Swetketu Patnaik, Yama Temouri, and Ashish Malik explores this question with key focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.6 which asks organizations to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle. They found that specific values held by core stakeholder organizations lead to emergence of favorable and unfavorable attitudes towards MNC miners and their indigenous Ghanaian counterparts, and that in turn to influence their intentions to engage in certain CSR practices (or manifest behaviors).
