Tobias Lock contributes to Academy of European Law’s 30 years-30 cases series

Professor Tobias Lock, Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law and Fundamental Rights, contributed to the Academy of European Law’s series on landmark judgments by the Court of Justice of the EU over the past 30 years. Prof Lock discussed the Court’s Opinion 2/94, in which the Court of Justice held that the EU did not have the competence to accede to the European Convention on Human Rights. In the video he provides the background to the opinion, comments on the reasoning of the Court and also discusses the follow-up Opinion 2/13 and its ramifications.
