Seth Barrett Tillman's Article on Chief Justice Taney Published in The Baltimore Sun

Seth Barrett Tillman has recently had an article published in The Baltimore Sun. The article, entitled ‘Taney was no champion of civil liberties’, can be read in full online.
 
Seth discusses the merits of the ongoing controversy in the United States in regard to removing the memorial of Chief Justice Taney from a public display. Taney is infamous for upholding the right of slaveholders to take their slaves into federal territories (unincorporated areas prior to statehood).

Seth Barrett Tillman is a Lecturer in Law at Maynooth University Department of Law where he lectures in Equity and Trusts and in Introduction to the American Legal System at undergraduate level.
