Maynooth University applies for Athena SWAN Bronze Award

Maynooth University has applied to the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) for Athena SWAN Bronze accreditation  (November 2017 round).

Equality and diversity is central to the university's new Strategic Plan and the Athena SWAN Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) 2018-21 is key in delivering this objective. Included in the GEAP is a commitment to increasing the numbers of women promoted to senior grades, with a specific strategy for women's recruitment and promotion in STEM; a significant focus on intersectionality and supports for Trans staff and students; and the appointment of a Vice-President for Equality, Diversity and Interculturalism. 

The   Maynooth University Athena SWAN Bronze Institution Award Application  was prepared by the university's Self Assessment Team and chaired by Professor Linda Connolly, Director of the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute. Professor Connolly was assisted in this role by Athena SWAN Project Officer Claire McGing
