The launch of the Maynooth Centre for European Law (MCEL) will take place on Wednesday October 4th at Renehan Hall, St Patricks College, South Campus, Maynooth University. To mark this occasion, the centre is delighted to welcome Judge Dean Spielmann, President of Chamber at the General Court of the EU and a former President of the European Court of Human Rights and the Honourable Ms Justice Niamh Hyland of the Irish High Court. Judge Spielmann will deliver a lecture entitled “Protecting the Rule of Law in Europe: Deploying the full potential of European judicial mechanisms” after which there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. Ms Justice Hyland will chair the event which commences at 6pm and will be followed by a drink's reception in Renehan Hall.
