The Final report of the LEEF High-Level Working Group on Collective Bargaining, chaired by Prof Michael Doherty has been published. The Group was formed in March 2021 to review the collective bargaining landscape in Ireland and make recommendations for the improvement. The report was welcomed by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, and An Tanáiste, Leo Varadkar (who, as Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, established the Group).
Prof Doherty presented the results of the report at the Industrial Relations News Annual Conference on October 6, with the General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Patricia King, and Ibec’s director of Employee Relations, Maeve McElwee. The Government will now consider the report, with a view to how its recommendations may be best implemented. The report can be accessed here.
Prof Doherty, who is currently on research sabbatical, lectures in Employment Law to LLB students.
