On Monday 19th November, PhD student Gerard Maguire accompanied by his Supervisor Dr. Noelle Higgins, presented a joint research paper at the British International Studies Association International Law Working Group workshop, University of Glasgow. The conference and workshop included a variety of round-table discussions and parallel sessions all discussing current research under the umbrella title "International Law Under Pressure; Navigating a Shifting Landscape".

Noelle and Gerard's research paper "UN Resolution 71/321, Game Changer or Game Player?" addressed the rapidly changing area of the rights of indigenous peoples within international law and if this resolution has brought a challenge to, and a re-conception of the internationally accepted definition of sovereignty. The workshop and conference was held by the British International Studies Association (BISA) and brought together a multitude of academics, lawyers and political scientists.
