On 10 December 2014, Dr Maria Helen Murphy, Lecturer in Law at Maynooth University Department of Law, was an invited speaker at an IAPP Dublin KnowledgeNet seminar held at the offices of leading Irish law firm, Arthur Cox, in Dublin.
Maria spoke on a panel with the Deputy Data Protection Commissioner, John O'Dwyer and Rob Corbet of Arthur Cox. The seminar addressed the key data protection issues that had arisen in a very interesting year for privacy and the protection of personal data. Topics discussed included the status of the proposed Data Protection Regulation, the “right to be forgotten”, and the government’s planned roll-out of individualised postcodes in 2015.
