Helen Fallon B.A. D.L.I.S (UCD), MA (UCD)

Helen took up the post of Deputy Librarian in 2000.  Prior to that she held a number of library posts including Assistant Librarian in a medical library in Saudi Arabia; lecturer in library and information studies at the University of Sierra Leone; Business & Education Librarian at DCU;  Science Librarian at DCU and Head of Information and Public Services at DCU. She has carried out a number of library consultancies in African countries including Namibia, Tanzania and Sierra Leone.  Staff training and development are among her current key interests.  Helen is particularly interested in how academic libraries can support the academic writing process.  She presents academic writing courses and has developed a writing blog for librarians.  Her publications are available via the Maynooth University ePrints institutional repository.  She is on the editorial board of An Leabharlann: The Irish Library.   Helen is a member of a number of national groups and committees including the Academic and National Library Training Co-opertaive (ANLTC) and the Education Developers Ireland Network (EDIN).
