DANCING Academic Conversation with Prof. Giuseppe Martinico
The first ‘Academic Conversation’ will take place on Monday, 12 June from 1-2pm (online). We will welcome Professor Giuseppe Martinico of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Study – Pisa (Italy). Prof. Martinico will present and discuss the second edition of his book “The Tangled Complexity of the EU Constitutional Process: The Frustrating Knot of Europe” (2nd edn, Routledge 2023).

Delia Ferri, Professor of Law at the School of Law and Criminology and co-Director of the ALL Institute, has been appointed to the Scientific Committee of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA).
Speaking on her appointment, Professor Ferri said: “I am delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the FRA and the advancement of fundamental rights in the European Union”.

Professor Aisling McMahon invited to present research at ‘Public Health, Trade and the Role of Law’ Workshop at the University of Edinburgh
Professor McMahon’s paper was entitled “Patents, TRIPS and the Private Governance of Public Health: A Perpetuating Institutionalised Marginalisation of Health?” which argued that there is a marginalisation of broader health needs within the current intellectual property system under TRIPS.

The Final Conference for the Varieties of Industrial Relations in Aviation Lockdown (VIRAL) project will take place in Brussels, on June 8th 2023.
Dr David Mangan and Prof Michael Doherty have conducted the research for the Irish study, and have jointly led a work package on the project.

Tiarnán McDonough has joined the School of Law and Criminology, Maynooth University as Research Assistant on the ERC DANCING project.
Tiarnán will be working under the mentorship of Professor Delia Ferri, the principal investigator on DANCING, to support completion of WP 1 as well as supporting and contributing to the qualitative research aspects of WP 2 of the project. Tiarnán will also contribute to the dissemination activities of the project and to deliver policy recommendations on how making cultural participation more inclusive for people with disabilities.
