Workshop on 'Bodies of Evidence'

The Department of Anthropology is hosting a workshop on 'Bodies of Evidence' on Tuesday, 10 December in the John Hume Boardroom. The workshop is organized by the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) Anthropology of Security Network. The workshop aims to explore how human bodies are configured as evidence and the emergent bodies of knowledge in security contexts. Themes include 'big data', policing, biometric security, and evidence in military interventions. The keynote speaker is Jean Comaroff, Alfred North Whitehead Professor of African and African American Studies and of Anthropology, Oppenheimer Research Fellow, Harvard University.
