The Higher Diploma in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) & User Experience (UX) is a Human Capital Initiative Pillar One funded programme that will prepare graduates to design, develop, and evaluate interfaces for modern applications and technologies. Graduates of this programme can find careers as a User Experience Designer, Human Factors Engineer, or Information Architect, but the skills developed over the course of this programme are transferable to many careers and working environments.
This is a one-year full-time programme for students who have completed a three-year Level 8 degree in any subject, including Computing. Prospective students who do not have a level 8 qualification, but have the equivalent in professional experience, may be eligible under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route. The aim of the Higher Diploma in Science (Software Development) is to provide training in IT and programming for graduates without previous experience of information technology. This course offers students technical software skills, involvement in a team project, Java industrial certification and a work placement preparation module to enable students to build a future career in Information Technology.
