Check out our new online guides on Successful Searching, Referencing and Academic Writing to help you succeed in your studies. Our guides are where to go to find key information you need from the Library.

The Successful Searching guide is designed to help you navigate the vast information that is available to you through the Library. It can show you how to search for books and journal articles, how to recognise credible information and contains useful resources and video tutorials.
The Referencing & Avoiding Plagiarism Guide explains plagiarism, the basics of referencing and gives examples of the referencing style you should be using. It also introduces you to tools that can help you reference and other ways the Library can help you with referencing.
The Academic Writing Guide explains what academic writing is and provides key advice on ways to improve your writing for essays and assignments. The guide also informs you of additional support and resources for academic writing available to you from MU.

These guides were written by the library staff  and also staff from the Writing Centre to share their knowledge and help you with your studies.

You can find them in Learning Resources under the Guides & Tutorials section of the library’s homepage or at this link:
