IMPORTANT: INCOMING CAO FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
                     * PLEASE READ INFORMATION BELOW *

We are excited to meet all our new students in September. For those students who received an offer of an academic place through CAO round 1 offers on 28th August, and who may wish to search for accommodation, please note:

1) There is plenty of accommodation available in the locality of the university and more rooms are going up every day.

2) Our Admissions Team have emailed you to let you know you have been offered a place and have posted out some important and useful information to help you get started. Part of this information is a password for you to access  www.maynoothstudentpad.ie  which is our online database of off-campus accommodation - a self-service facility available 24/7. You can use this once you receive your password in the post.

3) In advance of receiving this, you should read up on all the really useful information on this website to help you get the best from your search for accommodation (checklists, hints and tips, maps). We have been managing this process for many years and we find the students that prepare themselves with information always have the best experience in their search for accommodation.

4) When you access the listings of off-campus accommodation, make sure you contact the homeowner / landlord to make an appointment - most generally work or have families so it's not good to call unannounced as they may not be home and you will become frustrated.

5) We strongly encourage you to attend one of our Student Information Sessions - most are online so you can access these from home - these will give you lots of really good advice and guidance along with the opportunity to ask us any questions you might have. Additional sessions will be scheduled, if required, and listed on the mu.ie/mupad website.

6) Remember point number 1 - there is plenty of accommodation available! Consider the surrounding towns...... for example, to the west of Maynooth is Kilcock which is 5 minutes on the train and about 7 minutes on the bus or 15 minutes cycle along the Royal Canal Greenway! To the east of Maynooth is Leixlip which has two train stations, one is 5 minutes and one is 6 minutes from Maynooth. Leixlip is also served by Dublin Bus approx. 10 minutes from Maynooth.
*PLEASE NOTE*
On-campus accommodation is managed by the Residence Office , so you will need to contact them directly about any on-campus queries.

We wish you all the very best with your accommodation search.
