Dr. Claire Hamilton to speak at Royal Irish Academy Conference on 'Human Rights: Culture and Critique'

Dr. Claire Hamilton will deliver a presentation on 'Human rights, social science and the siren call of security' at a conference on 'Human Rights: Culture and Critique' which will be held in Academy House in Dublin on Thursday 22nd June. The conference is organised by the Social Sciences Committee of the Royal Irish Academy and is aimed at examining the role of the social sciences in helping to ensure human rights as a lived reality. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Prof. Conor Gearty, LSE who will discuss whether 'the era of human rights is drawing to a close'. Dr. Claire Hamilton is a Senior Lecturer at the Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures in Evidence ​on the LLB and BCL programmes.
