The Department of Anthropology is now recruiting
Teaching Assistants (3), Tutors (1), and Kilkenny First-Year Programme Subject Leader (1)
to commence September 2016

 
Job Description: Teaching Assistants (3)
Teaching Assistants (TAs) will work with module lecturers and the Undergraduate Coordinator to facilitate student groups in the first year of the undergraduate programme.  TAs will, under supervision, facilitate group work and discussions, carry out individual and group exercises, and assist with assessment.  Attendance at lectures and meetings throughout the academic year will be required. Office hours for student mentoring and administration will be expected.
Requirements: Teaching Assistants will normally be expected to be registered postgraduate research students, ideally with relevant experience.
Duration: One academic year
Salary: Paid per hour as occasional staff
Starting date: Applicants should be available for work (and training) in early September 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter

Attendance at lectures and meetings throughout the academic year will be required. Office hours for student mentoring and administration will be expected.

Kilkenny First-Year Subject Leader (1)
The Subject Leader will work with module lecturers and the Head of Department to deliver the first year of the undergraduate programme in our Kilkenny Campus.  The Subject Leader will lecture, tutor, facilitate group work and discussions, manage an ethnographic field exercise, and will be responsible for assessment. Attendance at lectures and meetings throughout the academic year will be required. Office hours for student mentoring and administration will be expected.  
Requirements: The Subject Leader should have relevant experience of  the first year of the undergraduate programme in Maynooth Anthropology Department, be a registered postgraduate student or have significant relevant experience.
Duration: One academic year
