Keith Murphy wins Map Alumni Achievement Award 2016

Keith Murphy, who graduated with Honours from Anthropology in 2013 was awarded the MAP Alumni Achievement Award in May 2016 in recognition of his achievements. Keith was involved in many voluntary extra-curricular activities during and since his undergraduate time and he is now working in the area of teaching adults with intellectual and/or learning difficulties.

The Maynooth University Access Programme (MAP) was established in 1998 to increase the number of underrepresented students in Higher Education - mature students, first generation access students, students with a disability and members of the Irish Travelling Community.  Maynooth University has a national reputation in the area of widening participation. 

Maynooth University has established the MAP Alumni Achievement Award to honour MAP students who have progressed to inspirational and exciting careers and are inspirational to future generations of students.  Established in 2015, the MAP Alumni Achievement Award recognises the outstanding contribution that MAP Alumni make to the University, to current students and to the wider community through their professional development, civic participation and volunteering

The Maynooth University Access Programme Alumni Achievement Award will recognise a graduate who either:

  • Entered Maynooth University through the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) or Disability Access Route to Education (DARE)
  • Received supports at Maynooth University from the Disability Office
  • Entered Maynooth University through the mature student entry route
  • Or is a member of the Irish Travelling Community
