‘The Moral (B)Orders of Security: Towards a Moral Anthropology of Security’

Ana Ivasiuc is a Lecturer in the Anthropology of Crime and Security at Maynooth University. She works on urban insecurity, formal and informal policing, security practices of the far-right in Europe, and the securitization of Roma groups. She carried out ethnographic research in the peripheries of Rome, where she observed the racial policing of the Roma, as well as grassroots practices of informal policing. Since 2020, she is a co-convener of the Anthropology of Security network of the European Association of Social Anthropologists.
