Professor Doherty Discusses Minister Nash's Report on Clerys

On  27 April 2016, Professor Michael Doherty appeared on Newstalk FM’s Breakfast Show to discuss the report commissioned by Minister Ged Nash last year in the wake of the sudden closure of Clerys department store in Dublin. A podcast of the show is available online.
 
Professor Michael Doherty is the national expert for Ireland in the SEEurope research network on the European Company (SEE Europe) which is a network project under the leadership of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI). It involves legal, economic and industrial relations experts from basically all countries in which European Companies (SEs) can be set up. Professor Doherty took over as the Irish expert in the network from the distinguished social policy researcher, Kevin P. O' Kelly (Associate Researcher at the ETUI and former Director of the Combat Poverty Agency).

Professor Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses on Employment Law and Work & Employment in Europe on the LLB and lectures on the MA in Sociology (Work, Labour Markets and Employment) at Maynooth University. He is also co-author of Principles Irish Employment Law (Clarus Press).
