Professor Doherty researches in the area of industrial relations law and policy and has commented and published widely on Irish and European collective bargaining, including his piece ‘Austerity and Labour Rights in Europe: An Irish Lullaby?’, published in one of Europe's most respected Labour Law Journals, Rivista Giuridica del Lavoro.
Professor Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses on Employment Law and Work & Employment in Europe on the LLB and lectures on the MA in Sociology (Work, Labour Markets and Employment) at Maynooth University.
