On 20th May 2016 we welcomed international delegates to the two day conference; Olympics in Conflicts at the Council Room, Maynooth University. The conference was jointly organised by Dr. Lu Zhouxiang, Chinese Studies in the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures and The International Journal of the History of Sport (IJHS).
The President of Maynooth University, Professor Philip Nolan opened the proceedings and warmly welcomed all the participants. He said Maynooth was proud to host the conference and told us of the history of the seminarians playing sport in Maynooth.
During the two day event interesting presentations and fruitful discussions were held. Professor Fan Hong the editor of the IJHS closed the conference. Thank you to all the delegates who attended and contributed.
