Students and staff of Maynooth University rolled up their sleeves to take part in MU Green Week. The event, which is organised by the Maynooth Green Campus, is a collaboration with An Taisce National Spring Clean, which celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Green Week underlines the University's commitment to sustainable practices and the environment. It also provides an opportunity for students, staff, and the wider community to come together, share ideas, and take meaningful action towards building a more eco-conscious society.

Throughout the week, a variety of campus events took place ranging from interactive eco workshops, exhibitions, informative panel discussions, and engaging activities.

Among the highlights was an ‘Eating with the Seasons Workshop’, where staff and students had the opportunity plant seeds for the Edible Garden and forage with local herbalist Emma Cooney.

Maynooth Green Campus is part of An Taisce’s Green Campus Network and is made up of staff and students from Maynooth University and St Patrick’s College Maynooth and the local community groups.

It encourages the community to take action on environmental sustainability through teaching, research, public engagement and other campus activities. It includes events such as Green Campus Week, Sustainability Expos, and edible garden and biodiversity walks that are open to staff, students, and the public.
