Maynooth University Department of Law welcomes new member of staff Dr David Mangan

David comes to Maynooth University with a background spanning practice as a lawyer in Canada, consulting engagements as well as lecturing at law schools in Canada and the United Kingdom including the London School of Economics, where he completed his doctorate. His research centres on obligations as well as employment law, particularly the application of contract and tort in information technology as well as the intersection between employment law and information technology. David's research has been published in law journals in Canada, the UK and the US. His recent work includes: The Legal Challenges of Social Media (Edward Elgar Publishing) work with the Law Commission of Ontario's project Defamation in the Age of the Internet; winner of the 2017 Society of Legal Scholars, Best Paper Prize, as well as contributions to the blog Regulating for Globalization hosted by Wolters Kluwer. David is also an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School (Canada) where he teaches obligations.
