Law Students Present Report to the Immigration Council of Ireland

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 - 14:15

On Wednesday, 27 April 2016, Department of Law students presented a report on ‘Migrant Children's Rights in Ireland’ to the Immigrant Council of Ireland. This was a community-based learning project undertaken by the students, whereby they collaborated with the Immigrant Council to develop a topic for research and complete that research as a group. The report gives an overview of the rights of migrant children in a number of areas, including access to healthcare, education, family unity, expulsion, and the right to a nationality and birth registration. The report provides an annotated bibliography of the main legal and policy sources in each of these areas.

This formed part of the module ‘Globalisation, Migration and the Law’, available as part of the LLM (International Justice) programme at Maynooth University Department of Law.

The text of the report is available on the website of the Immigrant Council
