Andrea Schwab – Mezzosoprano /writerIn 2011 Andrea Schwab founded together with the pianist Asako Hosoki the society on Women Composers in Vienna. The pianists Hikaru Yanagisawa and Joanna Niederdorfer joined the project along with the violinists Yoko Huber and Maria Marta Pawilkowska and actresses Michaela Ehrenstein, Christine Renhardt and Dagmar Schwarz. Since 2012 the project has been sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministery of Education and Research (Bmbf – Bundesministrium für Frauen und Bildung). Due to her concert series and research she visits schools introducing her project. As a descendant of Theodor Herzl she created the project: Remembering Theodor Herzl based on a documentary by the Israelian TV/ Channel 2 where she participated with her mother and her pianist Asako Hosoki. Remembering Theodor Herzl is sponsored by the Future Fund of the Republic of Austria. She is committed to performing works of female composers from different periods of history and to make them known nationally and internationally. She also publishes on musical topics, her family and Theodor Herzl for the ILLUSTRIERTE NEUE WELT (Dr. Joanna Nittenberg) and works as a voice-trainer in adult education.
