Prof Michael Doherty contributed to a new book, La negociación colectiva en europa. Una perspectiva transversal. The book was the culmination of a project, directed by Prof Jesús Cruz Villalón (Universidad de Sevilla), looking at collective bargaining in Europe, and was supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Trabajo, Migraciones, y Seguridad Social. Prof Doherty contributed a report on collective bargaining in Ireland and the UK.
Prof Doherty has previously published an article, in Spanish, in 2016; “Trabajo Decente y Creación de Empleo: una Visión Angloirlandesa”. The article looked at policies of employment creation in Ireland and the UK in the context of the “job creation” pillar of the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) “decent work” agenda.
Prof Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law, as well as Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students.
