Prof Doherty featured in the Irish Examiner

Prof Michael Doherty was featured in a piece in the Irish Examiner on October 15th on “WRC cases: Trying to solve problems in the workplace easier said than done”. The piece, which also included commentary from the WRC Director General, Oonagh Buckley, looked at some potential reasons for the rise in the numbers of workplace disputes coming to the WRC. Prof Doherty has written and commented extensively on the resolution of employment relations disputes; his 2009 paper, Institutional Challenge: Tribunals, Industrial Relations and the Law, was cited extensively in the process leading up to the reforms of the employment tribunal system in Ireland in 2011. Prof Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law, as well as Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students
