National Moot Court Competition 2023

Maynooth University is calling on law students across Ireland and the UK to register now to take part in this year’s National Moot Court Competition and demonstrate their legal prowess. Registrations are invited for no later than 5pm on 20th October 2023.
Sponsored by A&L Goodbody, the event celebrates its 14th year (now under the organisation of Maynooth University’s School of Law and Criminology) and will take place on Saturday 18th November 2023 at the Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8.
Law students invited to showcase their skills
The National Moot Court Competition is an annual inter-law school event designed to give law students an opportunity to showcase their skills before prominent members of the legal profession, including a Supreme Court Judge. Each institution can enter a maximum of 2 teams with teams comprising 3 students.

Entrance fee: €25
Written Submission deadline: 5.00 pm 3rd November 2023
Prizes: For the Winning Team, Best Speaker in the Final and Best Memorials. 

What is the case?
This year's problem revolves around privilege. Students are required to prepare written submissions for the Appellant and written submissions for the Respondent. Students will deliver oral arguments on 18th November at the Criminal Courts of Justice.
