Safe Haven Ireland (“SHI”) is a not for profit initiative founded in 2015. Its primary objective is to empower young people and foster integration in Ireland. In 2018, a volunteer group of Maynooth University undergraduate and postgraduate law students undertook an evaluation of Safe Haven Ireland’s sailing trips in 2016. The evaluation was in the form of a survey of participants in the trips. The survey was designed, distributed and analysed by the students under the supervision of Dr Clíodhna Murphy, Lecturer in the Department of Law. It is planned that, this year, a further group of students will analyse the experiences of participants on the 2017 and 2018 sailings. The report outlining the findings of the study is now available Maynooth University Law Students’ Report on Safe Haven Ireland
