Dr Fergus Ryan visited Annecy and Lyon last week to deliver part of a blended module on the Law of Persons to students at the Université Catholique de Lyon (UCLy). This is the sixth iteration of the module's delivery in Lyon but was the first time students in Annecy had a class taught by a Maynooth law lecturer. The brand new UCLy Alpes Europe campus is situated in the historic and scenic city of Annecy, close to Geneva. UCLy students can take a joint BCL Études Juridiques degree with Maynooth, the third year of which is completed at Maynooth.

Dr Ryan has taught the Law of Persons in Lyon since 2016. The module addresses the status of persons in law, including aspects of human rights, company law, citizenship law, the law on registering life events, gender recognition, family law, and the law on capacity. It is offered on UCLy's Diplôme Universitaire and on the BCL Études Juridiques.
