Law and Criminology Prize Giving Ceremony 2021-22

The School of Law and Criminology held its annual Prize Giving Ceremony on Tuesday the 18th of October in conjunction with the Maynooth Law Society’s Career Fair.

The ceremony was hosted by Dr. Rhiannon Bandiera in the Aula Maxima, and featured the wonderful recipients and sponsors.

Shauna Fox received the The Association for Criminal Justice Research and Development Prize for Best Student in Criminal Law, which is awarded to the highest scoring student in the first-year module LW157: Criminal Law. The prize was presented on the day by Dr. Lynsey Black.

The Mullany Walsh Maxwells Prize for the Highest Mark in Legal Writing, awarded to the highest scoring student in the first-year module LW159: Legal Skills, went to joint winners Daire Collier and Debra Shotunde. The prize was awarded by Clodagh O’Hagan who is Partner at Mullany Walsh Maxwells.

Dallan Kenny received the Bloomsbury Professional Award for the Highest First Year Mark in first-year law modules. The award was presented by Acting of School Dr. Fergus Ryan.

Leah Gleeson was one of two recipients to be awarded the KOD Lyons Best Student in Criminal Law Prize, which is presented to the highest scoring student in the second-year module LW252: Criminal Law. The prize was also awarded to Erin Grealis, who received the award in absentia. The prize was awarded by Dr. Ryan.

Rioghnagh Bracken of R. Bracken & Co. Solicitors presented the Best Student in Criminology Prize to joint winners Andrea Pownall and Eamonn Sullivan. The prize is awarded for the highest mark received in third-year criminology modules.
