Friday, April 5, 2019 - 10:30

Maynooth University Department of Law held its annual Taster Day for Law and Criminology on March 30th. The event was attended by CAO applicants, who have indicated interest in studying on one of Maynooth’s innovative programmes.

The event featured an address from Ms Justice Marie Baker, Judge of the Court of Appeal and Siofra Flood, General Counsel and Executive Adviser at NearForm (open enterprise software development).

The students also heard from Dr David Doyle who spoke on the topic of exploitation and uncertainty in the lives of labour trafficking victims in Ireland, and Professor Tobias Lock who gave a lecture explaining the significance of the role of law in the context of Brexit.

Past and present students discussed their experiences across our undergraduate programmes, transferring from Arts to Law, participation in extra-curricular activities, clubs and societies, doing a work placement, taking a study abroad year, and of options for further study.
