Maynooth University Department of Law is delighted to invite you to a half-day conference on Severe Labour Exploitation and Human Trafficking in Ireland.

The conference brings together academic experts, legal practitioners, state bodies, and civil society actors to highlight legal and practical aspects of severe labour exploitation and human trafficking in Ireland. It will examine the interaction of criminal law, employment law and immigration law in this complex field; focussing on recent developments within the Council of Europe framework as well as in domestic law and policy.

The programme includes a presentation on the findings of an Irish Research Council-funded project on the needs and perspectives of labour trafficking victims in Ireland. The final session will be a roundtable discussion on how the challenges around severe labour exploitation can be tackled going forward.
