Thomas Appleby, who is working with Dr David Lederer on “The influence of Pietism on Psychiatry in 18th Century Germany”, was awarded one of the top John and Pat Hume postgraduate scholarships by Maynooth University, worth €18,000/year for the duration of his studies

Veronica Barry, who is working with Prof Filipe Ribeiro de Meneses and Dr Jennifer Redmond on “An Examination of Nazi Propaganda Directed at Women of the Neutral States from 1933-45”, was awarded an Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship, worth over €20,000/year for the duration of her thesis. |

Megan McAuley, who is working with Dr Redmond on “The Lives and Deaths of Donegal’s Children, 1850-1950: A Study of Localised Childhood Experience”, was awarded both a John and Pat Hume few waiver from Maynooth University and the Denis Phelan Scholarship from the National University of Ireland, a stipend for this academic year worth €16,000.

Finally Thomas McGrath, who is working with Prof Ribeiro de Meneses and Dr Jonathan Wright on "An Examination of the Irish in South Africa from the Irish Revolution to the Declaration of the South African Republic", was awarded a John and Pat Hume fee waiver. |
