The Geographical Turn: Artists and Geographers Explore Space, Place and Environment

A new research-creative exploration of concepts, processes and relations related to space, place and environment.  The Geographical Turn is a 'knowledge exchange' project coordinated by Gerry Kearns, funded by the Irish Research Council, with support of the Royal Irish Academy, Space&Place, and Maynooth Geography. 

The two-day symposium, Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November 2015, will include conversations, short talks, films, exhibitions, and field walks. This venture convenes conversations between visual, performance, theatre, dance, and musical artists, and geographers and spatially-minded scholars. Speakers include:  Ambra Bergamasco, Michelle Browne, Craig Connolly, Marisa Denker, Luke Gibbons (tbc), Anthony Haughey, Gerry Kearns, Larry Kirwan, Joe Lee, Silvia Loeffler, Louise Lowe, Marie Mahon, Alan Mee, Conor McGarrigle, Naomi Murphy, Ríonach Ní Néill, Cian O’Callaghan,Cormac O’Brien, Fearghus Ó Conchúir, Zoë O’Reilly, Blaithin Quinn, Karen Till, Anne Volvey, Neil Watkins, and Fiona Whelan.
